Tamar received her bachelors degree in Life Sciences from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, after which she received a Diploma in teaching Special Education. In 1997, Tamar started to work at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo as a guide, and was quickly promoted to Education Programs Coordinator. Here, at UCSB, Tamar has worked at the MRL (Materials Research Laboratory), assisting with education outreach programs and joined the CDM center as the Education Programs Coordinator. She has gained much experience in developing education programs for students of all ages, and enjoys communicating with teachers, students and colleagues.

"What I enjoy most about coordinating outreach programs is the fact that you always need to form new contacts and get them interested in something different. Teachers are always looking for new challenges for themselves or for their students and activities that provide a break from their routine. Outreach programs are there for that purpose. I like being part of their "adventure" and giving them the opportunity to learn and grow ".
